With reference to your previous letter, I would like to express my gratitude to all those editors out there for taking every ‘scandal’ and tagging ‘-gate’ on to the end of it, so as to lend whatever non-event they’re reporting some of the glamour and gravitas of Nixon’s resignation. Without you, I’d never be able to tell whether a story was positive or negative.
